dlr Libraries are running a Summer Reading Buzz again this year from early June-early September. The Summer Reading Buzz is an excellent opportunity to encourage children to keep reading and enjoying stories over the summer months.
The idea of the Summer Reading Buzz is simple. Children pick up a Summer Reading Buzz Membership Card from their local library and for every book they read, they get a bee stamp in their card. Other incentives include bright, colourful bookmarks, stickers, Summer Buzz pencils and after 10 books are read, a Summer Buzz wristband and a certificate. Once completed, membership cards are posted into a special post box hive in each library and a draw will take place for some excellent prizes in September.
